The Splash! Animals and Cheetah Conservation Project - SHARE THE EARTH: NAMIBIA

SAN DIEGO, California—June 27, 2011—A joint effort between Splash! Animals, the award-winning live art show, and The Cheetah Conservation Fund, this project seeks to inspire youth in Nambia to preserve fragile cheetah populations. Twelve to fifteen local youths between the ages of eighteen and twenty-two will be selected to participate in a two to three week program that will teach them the performance art of Splash! Animals. Once the training is complete, they will work directly with the Cheetah Conservation Fund to travel and deliver performances that will inspire others to join in the preservation of cheetahs.

Results

  1. Development of performance and art skills of local youths that can be used and transferred beyond the scope of the training program and initial implementation
  2. Provide a unique and inspiring tool to aid the Cheetah Conservation Fund in meeting their conservation goals
  3. A measurable increase in the Namibian cheetah populations
  4. Increased awareness of the plight of the cheetah
